A Certified Cash Flow Specialist™ is uniquely trained to build and create that plan for you: giving you a clear path to your goals, designed with the money you already have.
As a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), I love having a consistent fundamental tool to start the planning process. Because clients come in at different stages of life and finances, I always felt like I had to recreate my process with everyone– or worse, was just filling a problem with a product. Cash flow planning helps me start in the same place with everyone and provide true financial planning. While the process is consistent, and the plans are unique.
As a CCS™ I love that we focus on savings first and debt second. Savings is what creates empowerment, is not a skill many people posses and it is incredibly emotional. Everyone knows how to pay off debt but if we don’t change how we feel about our money, we will simply recreate debt. Becoming a saver is a skill that can be learned!
No more Budgets!! This surprises my clients. I tell them like diets, budgets don’t work! I love having different way of talking to my clients about the importance of both saving and protecting
I walk my talk. I used to be a great spender and now I’m a great saver. I can relate to cash flow from an emotional perspective. My old “budget” didn’t let me have a latte every day and I always felt bad when we would add up how much we spent eating out in a month and the size of our credit card bills! Now I can choose to have a daily latte, or not! I love that I am now conscious of my spending and spend my money where it counts.
If you don’t know where your money is going, you can’t possible be empowered.
The biggest reason I love cash flow planning is because it answers the question “will I have enough money?”. I have a very powerful tool that lets me answer that question. Even when the answer is “no”, the client now knows what must be done in order to get to a “yes” and they are always so happy to see how easy it is to get there.
Cash flow planning takes the pressure off so that my clients are less stressed about their day-to-day spending. When they walk out of my office after that first meeting with only one thing to do – go to the bank for their weekly cash. They understand that are free to do as they wish and understand it is now a conscious choice. They always leave my office feeling empowered. The second meeting is always my favorite because I get to see a physical change in how they are feeling about their money. I love how surprised they are about how easy it was and that they still had money left over every week! Their money is finally adding to their happiness, not detracting from it.
This process, for some couples, is the first time they have ever had a real conversation with their spouse not just about where they are spending their money but how it makes them feel. I love that relationships are stronger and happier as a result of cash flow planning!
