Shawn was born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and moved to Saskatoon in 1986 to attend the University of Saskatchewan. After graduation he married his wife Kathy and had two beautiful little girls, Kaitlin and Victoria. Shawn always had an entrepreneurial spirit and used this energy to grow his Financial Services practice.
Shawn completed his life insurance license as well as LUATC to obtain his Level II life license. He then completed his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 2003. To further develop his knowledge, Shawn has completed the highly recognized designation of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) in 2009. Achieving this designation indicates a high level of knowledge in the areas of Taxation, Law and Estate Planning as it pertains to individuals, partners and corporations.
Prior to choosing a career in the financial services industry, Shawn attended the University of Saskatchewan, completing three years of an Electrical Engineering Degree, and earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree. At the University, he also completed courses in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Sciences. During his last year, the Department Head of Political Studies hired Shawn to perform statistical analysis for a book that he was writing. Shawn took a year off after his BA before going back to University to start his path towards a Law Degree. In 1994, he entered the Financial Services Industry with Metropolitan Life. It didn’t take long for him to develop a passion for and excel in this industry, which led him to a secondary educational path in the Financial Services Industry.
